Noun Suffixes
All this time, and we have only covered the basic verb suffixes - all nine categories, and those lengwI'mey rovers. Throughout, I've tried to use the suffixes in sentences that show you how they are used. The examples in The Klingon Dictionary are simple and clear, but ultimately one always needs some examples of usage in order to get a grasp of how the language works.You have already been made aware that nouns have suffixes, as far back as this lesson. It is now time to look again, more deeply, at the five different kinds of noun suffixes.
Klingon Nouns Have Suffixes, Too
By now, you should be familiar with plural suffixes - -pu', -Du' and -mey; the suffixes -vam this, -vetlh that and -mo' because of, due to at the very least, from their appearances in past pages on this blog.There are, of course, plenty other suffixes; and this post is just a general overview, before drilling down into the details.
Five Types
A reminder: Klingon nouns take on a maximum of five different types of suffixes. As with Klingon verbs, these suffixes are tacked on to the end of the noun, and each is in a specific order.
