Ready For Anything: -rup, Type 2 Suffix

tlhIngan Hol has two distinct Type 2 verb suffixes denoting readiness to do the stated verb: -rup and -beH. Both carry the meaning of ready; but both represent a different form of readiness.

-rup ready, prepared (referring to beings)

-rup indicates that the subject of the sentence is ready to do something, or have something happen.

-rup And Imperatives

You can use -rup with an imperative command. You can tell someone jagh yISuvrup Be ready to fight the enemy! or Dargh wIb yItlhutlhrup Be prepared to drink the sour tea!
